Rufous Night Heron recorded breeding were failed at serasa in 1988. Thank goodness it came back and breed successfully in Brunei river since
2012 till now. The numbers increase during winter migration and now
they breeding together with Black-crowned Night Heron, Striated Heron
and other egrets species. latest sighting were the chinese pond heron at
the Rufous night heron breeding ground.
Eyebrowed thrush is my first time seeing this winter visitor.
Apparently they are on their way to Mulu cave montane forest but stop
over in the lowland forest of Brunei forest food. This photo was taken
first week of December 2014 lowland forest edge. They were half a dozen
feeding on fallen berries and forest snail. i manage to get few photo as
they not just shy but keeping moving around in search for food.
the group only stay for few days before continuing their journey to
mulu cave montane forest.
I am not sure if they stopping by at the same
place or not but i am keen to find out december 2015.
